Mr Dog Trophy

On the 1st of January each year there is a very special Petanque match which takes place in memory of Mr. Dog.

Mr Dog was rescued from a market place in Korea where he was on sale as live meat, trussed up and ready for slaughter. He was rescued and taken back to England where he lived a long and happy life.

This year some 30 players braved the freezing temperatures to take part in the 25th year of this tournament and after some fiercely competitive early rounds the winning team of Heidi, Alan and Charlie beat Bill, Kesia and Richard in the final to take the Mr Dog trophy, presented by Mike Cowley (pictured below) who donated the trophy.
