The John O'Gaunt Inn at Sutton is now a Freehouse. The previous owners sold off a lot of their pubs and there was a danger that the John O'Gaunt Inn would be purchased for change of use and closed as a pub. A local businessman and his wife, Steve and Jennifer Waller, sympathetic to the needs of the local community, purchased the freehold and saved the day. Les and Heleena were delighted as Steve and Jennifer are well respected regulars. |

| Biggleswade Chronicle ‘Pub of the Year' Competition Les and H would like to thank everyone who voted for the John O'Gaunt Inn in the recent ‘Pub of the Year' competition run by the Biggleswade Chronicle. Sadly, owing to a mix up beyond our control, we were omitted from the list of nominees during the first week of voting. However, we are very pleased to say that we finished third behind two much larger pubs with much bigger restaurant facilities. Click here for Chronicle article |
