One of the great joys of Britain's pubs is their sheer variety, ranging from simple rural pubs to late-Victorian extravaganzas. CAMRA's Pub Heritage Group is committed to protecting and promoting our historic pub interiors. The John O'Gaunt Inn at Sutton has been a feature of this invaluable beer lovers guide for 25 consecutive years now. A feat that not many pubs can match.
 

The John O'Gaunt Inn at Sutton is now a Freehouse.

The previous owners sold off a lot of their pubs and there was a danger that the John O'Gaunt Inn would be purchased for change of use and closed as a pub. A local businessman and his wife, Steve and Jennifer Waller, sympathetic to the needs of the local community, purchased the freehold and saved the day. Les and Heleena were delighted as Steve and Jennifer are well respected regulars.
Since becoming a freehouse the prices of some beers and all wines have been reduced. The new wine list has been compiled with Continental Wines of Biggleswade. There is also an internal refurbishment planned and, subject to planning permission, some building work in the pipeline.
